There are 5 different reasons your laptop LCD screen stops working.

Cracked or physical Damaged

Your laptop screen physically damaged from being dropping or excessive pressure on the laptop screen, whilst in a bag or stud on.

This repair requires major disassembly and full replacement of the LCD panel.

No Obvious Physical Damage to Laptop (LCD Inverter)
No image on laptop screen but no physical damage this can be the Laptop Inverter,

A laptop inverter is a small circuit board, usually about the size of a pen. Internally, a laptop runs on a low voltage, with the exception of the screen, which uses a backlit liquid crystal display (LCD). Without the inverter and the bulb it powers, the screen would be too faint or display no image

This repair can be easy depending on the model, inverters are not all that expensive and repairs start at $79

No Obvious Physical Damage  to laptop LCD (LCD Ribbon Cable)

No image on the Laptop Screen, but no physical damage.

The majority of the time this is caused by the LCD ribbon cable that that transfers the image from the laptop mainboard to the LCD. This cable runs from the back of the LCD panel through the laptop hinge and connects onto the mainboard.

This repair requires a full tear down of the machine, in some instances more than a Laptop LCD replacement

No Obvious Physical Damage to Laptop Screen – Partial or No Image (Video Card)

Some of the more expensive laptop’s have dedicated video cards to assist with gaming Cad work  or graphic design. If the videocard fails you can have no image or a distorted image.

We have seen these type of issues (distortion or loss of image once machine get warm) resolved with a hardware service
