Lenovo Non-Touch Screen Replacement

If you have damaged your Lenovo Laptop screen, you will properly already be aware if its touch or not. If it’s a non-touch Lenovo Laptop screen replacement that is required, we will still need to identify the pin-out connector and correct resolution. Please note that the pin-out could be different even though the model number is the same.
Example; You can have a Lenovo with the Model number X230 which could be a 30 pin or a 40 pin adaptor, this can be due to a different resolution or different build date.

The Lenovo non-touch screen replacement is the least costly of them all, the screen can be replaced quite economically, and screens are generally readily available

Lenovo Touch screen Replacement – Assembly

Lenovo Touch Screen replacements have 2 different configurations, the first being a complete screen assembly, the LCD screen, and touch digitiser are glued together, so even though the image is fine behind the damaged touchscreen, we still need to replace the entire assembly. This consists of the touch screen digitizer, the LCD screen, touch/screen ribbon cable and in some instances the bezel.

These type of screen assemblies are glued into the rear lid and require a heat toll for replacement.

The Lenovo touch screen replacement can be costly, but these type of screen are generally in the high-end Lenovo models.

Lenovo Touch screen Replacement – Touch Screen Only

Lenovo Touch Screen replacements have 2 different designs, the first being a complete screen and touchscreen assembly as mentioned above. The 2^nd being touchscreen replacement only.

Some Lenovo Laptop’s Touchscreens are separate to the LCD screen so much like the Screen Assembly repair above, if the image is ok behind the touchscreen, in some instances just replace the touchscreen only, thus reducing the repair cost.

The touch screen also known as a digitizer is separated from the LCD using a heat tool, the small digitizer mainboard is tested and reused in most repairs. Some models of Lenovo also require a replacement bezel as the heat can warp the fine plastic frame around the digitizer A specific 3m adhesive is used to re-secure the touchscreen & Bezel back to the LCD screen.

Lenovo Complete Screen Assembly Replacement

Lenovo has a number of models where the entire lid needs to be replaced if screen damage occurs. The screen assembly consist of the following LCD screen, touchscreen (if applicable), bezel, rear lid, hinges, webcam and Wifi Antenna.

The Laptop needs to be fully disassembled for this repair.
