USB Port Repair | Brisbane - City Laptop Repairs

USB Port Repair…. We had a customer bring this laptop into our workshop asking to have it recycled. On inspection we a couple of simple repairs. The laptop was also in need of a full hardware service, which was made easy as the unit needed to be disassembled to perform the USB port repair.

They were all quite easily identified as you can see from the pictures below. The Laptop USB ports repair and the audio jack were damaged, lucky both these items are located on 1 PCB or mainboard… so that was an easy laptop repair.

As the Laptop started and ran quite fine, it was also determined that the laptop speakers were in need of replacement. So, this was part of the laptop repair.

One of the most important parts of any hardware disassembly is ALIGNMENT – this is a crucial part, upon reassembly of the unit, you cannot just “screw” it together, due to the number of small mainboards, sockets, ribbon cables and ports, the machine needs to have even pressure applied to all screws to allow correct alignment of all components of the laptop, only then can each component be tested on its own integrity.

Please note that not all laptop USB port repairs are the same. Depending on the manufacturer and design we have found that some “ports” are surface mounted, meaning they are soldered directly to the actual mainboard. This can be repaired also but may be slightly more expensive.
